Browse by place
The right photographer is partly a route decision. Browse the regional guides, then ask each candidate how much drive time and location work the quote includes.
Waterfalls, black sand and longer drives; useful for full-day coverage.
The broadest local base for teams serving routes across Iceland.
Coast, lava fields and mountains within a relatively compact peninsula.
Accessible landmarks with crowd and timing trade-offs to plan around.
Remote scenery with seasonal roads, vehicle limits and extra logistics.
A better enquiry
01
Ask whether they live in Iceland, return seasonally or fly in for each booking. Then compare travel charges and the local fallback plan.
02
Four hours can suit one compact area. A long route, private vows and several stops often need a full day. Match hours to drive time, not a photo count.
03
Request a complete gallery from similar light and weather. A portfolio homepage does not show how a photographer handles rain, wind or midday sun.
04
Confirm permits, drone limits, road closures, cancellation terms and who makes the safety call. Put every operational promise in writing.
Price guide
Only one profile in this comparison currently has a public starting price that we have checked against the photographer’s own site. The other amounts in older directory records stay hidden until we can attach a currency, source and review date.

How this page works
For this page, local base and weather planning carry extra weight because route safety and travel fees can change the value of an Iceland package. A featured listing can appear first, but payment does not change the comparison fields or our source rules.
Profiles come from public business information and the vendor’s own work. “Verified” is only shown after an independent check. Price figures need a currency, an original source and a review date. Contact the professional for availability and a contract-specific quote.

One local team in this shortlist currently publishes photography from $3,600 USD. Total quotes change with coverage hours, a second photographer, film, travel, permits and whether planning is bundled. Ask every photographer for the same itinerary so the quotes are comparable.
A local photographer can reduce travel fees and may know how light, roads and weather affect a route. A travelling photographer may be the right creative match. Compare the full delivered price, local backup options and who is responsible for location research.
Some photographers provide location ideas, timelines, vendor referrals and permit guidance; others focus on photography after you set the plan. Ask what is included, what remains your responsibility and whether the advice is written into the contract.
A useful weather plan names alternative locations, safe road limits, the decision deadline and any rescheduling fee. Iceland conditions can change quickly, so a vague promise to ‘work around it’ is not enough.
The South Coast works well for waterfalls and black-sand scenery, Snæfellsnes packs varied landscapes into a smaller area, and the Highlands can require seasonal access and capable vehicles. Choose the route before deciding how many hours of coverage you need.
For peak summer dates, start contacting photographers 9–15 months ahead. Shorter timelines can work outside peak dates, but flexibility on weekday, route and weather backup becomes more important.
